Illegible Salt Lake City Hotel sign

The only word I can make out is “Hotel”.  Located on the north side of Market Street Grill at 48 W. Market St.

Before the Green Pig

These were available to view for only a short time during the renovation of a small building for the new Green Pig Pub.  Construction uncovered several generations of signage that had been hidden by awnings.  Notice the faded “Cleaning” sign and the really cool font on “Larch Tire Service”.

Different generation, different needs.  Glad they kept the sign, but the awning has to go.

Salt Lake’s Tire Town

This great old building has been well preserved and restored.  It now host a small condo complex, restaurants, bakery and more.  The detail shows the old elevated roll-up door for offloading trains that used to run behind many buildings in this neighborhood.  Located on the corner of 300 West and Broadway.

Utah Ice and Storage

About the time these photos were taken, the building was scheduled to become yet another Salt Lake urban loft condo project.  SE corner of 300 South and 600 West.  Would be a great commuter location, right across from the UDOT inter-modal hub.

Still in service as subsidized housing.  Located at 428 W. Broadway.

Impressive grouping, old and new.  This ad is on the side of a garage at approximately 50 E. 700 South Salt Lake City.  Notice that even the vintage stuff is covering another sign.

New Grand Hotel

A Salt Lake classic found on the east face of an office building at Main and 400 South.
Probably restored at least once.  Nice work.
